Modernizing Community Healthcare in Watsonville
Renovation of a 15,000 SF office space at Clínica del Valle del Pájaro into a modern, accessible healthcare facility for Salud Para La Gente. Designed around the Patient-Centered Medical Home care model, the project includes specialized exam rooms, behavioral health suites, Medical Assistant hubs, utility spaces and custom patient check-in stations.
Challenge
The existing space needed to support integrated medical and behavioral health services while meeting OSHPD 3 (HCAI), accessibility, energy and sustainability requirements. The renovation also required extensive building-system upgrades, structural reinforcement and exterior site improvements.
Approach
Bogard coordinated the clinical spaces, specialized systems and site work across the tenant improvement. The team delivered mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades, reinforced the roof to support new HVAC equipment and reconfigured parking and accessible paths of travel to create a compliant, high-performing healthcare environment.
Result
The completed renovation provides Salud Para La Gente with an efficient, patient-centered facility designed to support coordinated care. The modernized clinic improves accessibility and functionality while advancing the organization’s mission to provide high-quality, dignified healthcare throughout the Monterey Bay community.
