Adaptive Reuse Designed for Student Learning
Adaptive reuse of a 46,000-square-foot office building into an academic campus for Pacific Collegiate School. The scope included comprehensive interior renovation along with targeted building and deck expansions to support educational use.
Challenge
The project required a major shift in how the property functioned, including structural modifications, utility upgrades, and site planning adjustments. Work had to support an academic program with high-density daily use while improving both indoor and outdoor learning spaces.
Approach
Bogard led major structural modifications and site-wide redevelopment to ensure the former office infrastructure could meet the demands of an educational campus. From navigating parking-lot logistics to overseeing the installation of custom architectural finishes, we served as the steady hand that kept technical hurdles from compromising the project.
Result
The completed campus is a model for adaptive reuse in Santa Cruz—turning a commercial site into a vibrant academic environment designed to support students and faculty for decades.
